Denver Union Station

Denver Union Station (DUS), the centerpiece of the FasTracks commuter rail corridor program, is a design-build project led by the Denver Union Station Project Authority and the Region Transportation District (RTD). All of the FasTracks rail corridors come and go from DUS, including the RTD regional HOV bus system and Free Mall Shuttle, making it a regional multi-modal facility. EES staff provided the site design of the Wynkoop Plaza in front of the DUS building, including site layout, grading, drainage, storm sewer and underground detention design as well as designing the under drains for all tree boxes throughout the two city-block area. EES also engineered the lowering of waterlines to facilitate construction of other utilities; redesigned the sanitary sewer to allow for the future development; and redesigned the Fox Street drainage which involved extensive coordination with the separate FasTrack project. Other services provided for the DUS project included post-design construction administration, and project controls for all design members.
